Hi there! My name is Ashley Cameron and I am working on my 5th year in the Animation/Illustration major, emphasis in Illustration. The light at the end of the tunnel would ultimately be that I become part of the Visual Development crew at Walt Disney Animation Studios, specifically character design. I have not had much training in respect to this area but I have been drawing my favorite princess, Ariel, since my days as a toddler when my father would sit down with me and share his love for drawing.
Prior to my years at San Jose State University, I was blind to the amount of work as well as the break down of what actually needed to be completed to produce those magical feature films from my youth. All I had seen were pretty colors and all I knew was that I wanted to be Aurora, Ariel, or Simba and live in their world. Now, I couldn't be more thrilled that I am closer to the day when I can assume the role and become the character by first feeling what the character feels and knowing what the character knows, and reflecting those ever important qualities in their image for the final product.
In addition to this course, I am taking Ani 117a and Ani 115. My experience in science/physics can be traced back to my junior year of high school in 2008. Mrs. Steever was my instructor's name and fun was her game. That class was a blast and I'm sure with the element of animation coming into play, this course will not disappoint. Here's to a good semester! Looking forward to it!
